As you know, temperatures this last weekend continued to be over 100 degrees and then dropped a bit continuing the week in the mid to high 90s.
Verasion has continued to develop rapidly in all varieties. Tempranillo (pictured) leading the way with 95% of the grapes purple, followed by Primitvio 50%, Syrah and Mourvèdre at 30%. All the other varieties are showing some verasion, 10 – 20%. With the forecast next week for cooler weather mid to high 80s, this cooling trend should encourage all varieties to complete verasion by this time next week.
Don’t miss out on our Rhone Paradise Hawaiian themed Decorated dinner on August 16th. Chefs, Jesse and Susan Ayala, always prepare us some awesome food. Pat and Rich 2 have confirmed some good music. I have picked out my shirt (Parot & Tucannon, partners in wine, toasting wine in a vineyard). We have lovely table cloths and decorations brought back from Hawaii, and Martha and the crew are looking forward to sharing some good times and wine with you!
Then on Saturday, August 17th, CCW hosts the Lounging at the Loft with a new band – Dr Rock and The Sturgeons. Looking forward to a fun night of relaxation and dancing. I hear they are good. Check them out HERE!
I and the crew have worked hard this week getting things prepped for our Coyote Canyon Winery Coyote Canyon Vineyard 30th year anniversary Celebration, benefiting “Heartlinks”. We have a new 36 passenger Champagne Party Bus booked to pick up at Comfort Suites in Kennewick at 1:00 pm on September 21st, and a shuttle to pick up at the Horse Heaven Hills Prosser Best Western Plus location. We will be giving vineyard tours hourly of the vineyard in this party bus. Ticket are available now - Purchase HERE. Each week I will give a bit of history on our family and vineyard as we prepare for our 30-year anniversary celebration. Best Western in Prosser is offering a 20% discount on reservations when you mention 'CCW Anniversary' when booking. Make your reservations HERE.
August is Washington Wine Month. We are giving a 10% discount on our Big John Cab. Each week I will give you a little more information on our wine of the month, including history of the brand, label, and wine.
Cheers! Hope to see you at one of our events coming up!
~ Mike, Martha, and the Coyote Canyon Winery Team
