Previously sold as Downtown White. Sweet tropical fruit aromas like pineapple, starfruit, and guava mixed with mild citrus make this a fun wine to smell. The flavors are a combination of apple and persimmon. The wine has a little residual sugar that adds body to the wine and a nice sweetness up front. The finish lingers while a touch of acidity helps to cleanse the palette. Pair this with a spinach & mandarin orange salad with a poppy seed dressing.
This is a new blend for Coyote Canyon and it is made from a combination of the white grapes we have been making over the years. Albarino is the base of this wine and the dominate contributor to both the aromatics and flavor profile of the wine. The sweet tropical notes come from the Albarino. The Viognier portion adds a little more body to the wine and a mild floral component. The Roussanne adds some minerality and complexity to the finish.

2015 was a very warm vintage resulting in an early harvest and some interesting challenges we haven't faced before. A typical vintage in Washington is pretty warm but 2015 was insane, the heat units accumulated so quickly we were picking 3 weeks earlier than an average year. As with any year many challenges were faced and adversities overcome in order to grow and create a great wine. The summer was hot but we didn't have a lot of days over 100 degrees which allowed the crop to ripen at a nice pace, be it a little faster than a typical vintage. When Fall arrived the grapes were ready about a week ahead of schedule. The wines from 2015 show great promise.
