A rich deep ruby color signifies this great varietal that originated in ancient Turkey. Pick up ripe blueberries and dark licorice as you the swirl the glass. This is a well structured medium bodied wine with bright cherry flavors and a hint of purple plum. A velvety smooth finish with distant cherry flavors, plums and fresh cedar make this a great wine to pair with roasted meats, and hard cheeses.
2010 was a cooler summer than 2009 but we still got great varietal expression although not as jammy as 2009. I fermented in small 1 ton bins I used 3 different yeast strains to create a well structured wine with great varietal expression and fruit.
