This Spanish Rioja style blend consists of Graciano, Tempranillo, and Grenache. A deep ruby color with a nose filled with black fruit, earthy minerals and sweet spice. This is a full bodied rounded blend with rich layers of caramel and fudge that is smooth but complex with a lingering finish of toffee and tobacco. A very food friendly wine that also pairs great with marinated beef and beef stews, or try rich chocolate desserts.
The grapes were handpicked at perfect ripeness and full of flavor then sorted and crushed. Fermentation took place in small 1 ton bins and the wines were fermented to dryness. The Graciano extracted its color beautifully in the very early stages of fermentation and showed great promise; full bodied, great mid palate but without the tannin structure that a Cabernet Sauvignon would have. The wine was aged 17 months in small French Oak Barrels.

In 2009 we were blessed with a very good summer. The fruit ripened beautifully with great varietal expression. We knew early on, during havest, that this vintage was going to be very promising.
