When swirling the glass we say: "See its beautiful legs". I like how the French say it better' "Le vin es pleurer", which means; "The wine is crying". A dark ruby wine with aromas of ripe black currant, truffle, licorice, and a hint of clove. A very nice medium bodied rounded Syrah with smooth tannins, firm structure and a lingering finish of blackberries, smoke, and distant leather. A great glass of wine by itself, roasted lamb or try with spicy Thai cuisine.
The grapes were handpicked at perfect ripemess and full of flavor then sorted and crushed. Fermentation took place in small 1 ton bins and the wines were fermented to dryness. I used several yeast strains from the Rhone Valley in France to build complexity. By doing this we were able bring out the black currant and licorice along with giving room to the earthy aromas of truffle and clove. The wine was aged for 17 months in small French and American Oak Barrels.

In 2008 we were blessed with a very good summer, the fruit ripened beautifully with great varietal expression. The grapes showed great color, flavor and a perfect balance of acidity and sugar.
